Learn more about your House SitterBecoming a house sitter was the last thing on our minds when we thought of getting older. I guess we thought we would have a nice house, garden, friends and settle in a place for the rest of our lives. Well, things change and people change, we certainly did. Instead of that we find ourselves on a three year journey around Australia as a house sitter. We thought of traveling around in a caravan which so many other people do but we do like having the space of a home and even more so we would be lost without the regular contact with pets and animals. We have had pets all our lives and it created such a massive void when the last one died in November 2008. We were feeling lost and wondered what we would do with ourselves. We had never placed them in kennels or catteries but had always had family come and care for them when we went away. It was this thought that lead us to the idea of becoming house and pet sitters as we travel around. It offers us the best of all worlds, we can travel around and still get those important furry cuddles and walks on a regular basis. We can come to your home and take care of it as we did our own. I am quite house proud and I can assure you the house will be clean and tidy. I also love gardening and Tony is a home handyman / house painter so you can rest assured any minor problems that may occur while you are away will be in good hands. We are hoping to spend about six months in each State and love the idea of living in as many different places and types of accommodation as we can manage. Certainly rural house sits are very different to the inner city apartment sits, each has their own peculiar nuances that need to be understood and addressed. As we have lived in both environments we find it relatively easy to fit into both worlds.
